Charles Choe
Lead Pastor
Charles is the Lead Pastor at Tapestry LA Church. Wanting to use his ransomed life for God, he attended Fuller Seminary and graduated with his Master of Divinity (M.Div). Upon graduating, Charles entered the pastoral ministry preaching and leading God’s people with a great desire to see changed lives. Charles joins Tapestry LA with 20 years of pastoral ministry experience. Charles and his wife Grace live in La Crescenta, California and have three children: Chloe, Noah, and Camden. While Charles has a hectic schedule, he manages to follow his favorite sports teams: the Lakers and the Dodgers. His utmost desire is to proclaim the glory of God as he endeavors to be driven by the Gospel and the Holy Spirit.
David Yoon
Executive Pastor
David is the Missions Pastor at Tapestry LA Church. He was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Go Hawks! He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies at California Baptist University, and continuing his studies in Theology, completed his Master of Divinity at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. David and his wife Hajin live in the South Bay. In their free time, they enjoy watching movies, going to Disneyland, and fostering kittens. They are passionate about God’s people and ministry, both here and overseas. Living each day under God’s grace, David and Hajin are eager to be used as a pathway of blessing to those around them.
Sherine Dissanayake
Education Pastoral Resident
Sherine is the Education Pastoral Resident at Tapestry LA Church. Sensing a call to ministry, she was blessed with the opportunity to serve in ministries such as Youth for Christ, Student Christian Movement that further grew her desire to partner God's work in the local church. Sherine graduated from the Master’s College with a bachelor’s degree in Bible and Communications, and Fuller Seminary with a Masters in Theology. She is currently pursuing a PhD program at Trinity Divinity Theological Seminary. Sherine was born in Lebanon and raised in Sri Lanka. She is a passionate fan of cricket, rugby, tea time and dancing! Above all, her desire is to partner with God’s redeeming and restoring work in the lives of the families in the city of Los Angeles.
Sam Baik
Connections Pastor
Sam is a PK and has served the Lord in Denver, NorCal and predominantly in the LA area. He graduated from Talbot Seminary with a MDiv in Missions. Sam loves seeing when people have their "AHA" moment when knowing about Jesus turns into passionate surrender and intimacy. Sam co-founded a non-profit that helps people recover from compulsions by journeying with people through their past trauma and shame. Sam is a “soul golfer”and loves to travel.
Aaron Kim
Youth Pastoral Resident
Aaron is the Youth Pastor at Tapestry LA Church. He first sensed a call to pastoral ministry in high school soon after first experiencing the redemptive love of Christ expressed in the Gospel message. He graduated from UCLA with a BA in Psychology and is currently working on a Master of Divinity at Talbot School of Theology. Aaron feels most alive when thinking through and unpacking the gospel applied in a church or societal context, when helping others experience solace or healing through the act of listening and care, or when helping others further discover the depths of God’s love in Christ through the exposition of scripture. He and his wife Jenn also love global missions and have hopes of doing long-term global mission work in the future. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, reading books, playing basketball; or rooting for the Dodgers, Lakers, or any UCLA athletics.
James Lee
College Pastoral Resident
James is the College Pastoral Resident at Tapestry LA. Being born into a pastor’s family, he also sensed a call into ministry at a young age and graduated from Biola University with a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. Afterwards he decided to go on a One Year Internship to Singapore. It was in Singapore where his heart for the urban church continued to grow. After spending a year in Singapore, James returns with a desire to see the church impact the city of Los Angeles with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He will continue his Masters of Divinity at Talbot School of Theology.
Andrew Kim
Church Planter
Andrew is the Executive Pastoral Resident at Tapestry LA Church. Believing that God had called him into ministry, he left the world of business and attended Eternity Bible College. He received a degree in biblical studies and served as a college pastor for 4 years. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary. Andrew and his wife Jessie live in Los Angeles, California. He is also an avid basketball fan, closely following his favorite player, Lebron James. Above all things, he is passionate about seeing the gospel of Jesus Christ transform the city of Los Angeles and to see people conformed to the image of God for His Kingdom.

Hanna Lee
Gospel Care Director
Hanna is the Gospel Care Director at Tapestry LA Church. She has encountered countless times where God has turned her sorrows into joy and transformed her wounds into strength. Thus began a passion and pursuit to love and counsel the lost, broken, and hurting. Hanna graduated from UCSD with a BA in Psychology. Wanting to impact the inner-city youth, Hanna obtained her Single-Subject teaching credential from Point Loma Nazarene University. However, a growing desire to go deeper with individuals, particularly in counseling, led Hanna to pursue her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at USC. Hanna has served Tapestry LA since its conception, alongside her husband, Ben Lee. They have two rambunctious, vivacious boys, Aidan and Jacob, and are in hopes for a little girl to bring some estrogen and balance into the family.
Alejandro Cisneros
TapKids Coordinator
Alejandro is the TapKids Coordinator at Tapestry LA Church. He currently serves in the Children Ministry. Alejandro was born in Mexico and was raised in Southern California. Since his radical conversion, Alejandro has sensed a call to pursue ministry. He intends to study theology and grow in his knowledge of the Word. His deepest passion is to be a vessel for God’s work and share how radical the love of God is.
Shinwook Chun
Missionary Emeritus
Shinwook immigrated to the States with his family when he was a teenager. After finishing B.A. in Biblical Study and M. Div at Biola University, he had a privilege to study NT for Th M to serve as a NT professor at theological seminaries in Indonesia. After serving 20 years in Bandung Indonesia, Shinwook and Annie returned to the States in 2019 to be near Annie’s aging parents. They have three adult children: Caris Zeller (married to Jacob), Jonathan, and Bethany. Shinwook is a lifelong fan of the 80’s showtime Lakers.
Esther Shin
Missions Director
Esther was born and raised in LA but wanted to experience the full four seasons and moved to the city with one of the coldest winters in the US – Chicago. She graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in Social Policy. Upon graduating, she was given an invitation to staff with InterVarsity campus ministries but felt that the Lord was calling her to be abroad. She therefore decided instead to move to Korea and lived there for 3 years teaching English. Upon returning back home, she worked for a healthcare non-profit organization for 2 years. After years of exploring her calling, Esther finally felt the Lord clearly leading her towards receiving further theological training for future missions/faith-based justice work. She is currently studying for a Master of Arts in Theology. Esther’s passion is to take part in God’s restorative and redemptive work in the cities and to the nations.

Stacy Aguilar
Family & Marriage Director
Stacy is the Family and Marriage Director at Tapestry LA Church. She attended Wheaton College where she double majored in Anthropology and Elementary Education and minored in Bible. Right after college, she served in Honduras for 3 years working as a teacher at a bilingual school as well as serving the street kids of Tegucigalpa. Since returning from Honduras, she taught 4th grade in Los Angeles and completed her Masters of Science in Education Instructional Leadership at Mount St. Mary’s University. She is currently studying at Fuller Seminary to receive her MA in Theology and Ministry. Stacy and her husband Diego have two children Olive and Milo, and they have served Tapestry LA since its conception. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and traveling in her free time (if lucky, all 3 at the same time.) But above all, she is passionate about being part of God’s redemptive story as He restores our broken world unto His glorious self.

Nathan Flores
Gospel Care Coordinator
Nathan is the Gospel Care Coordinator at Tapestry LA Church. He has experienced the tangible presence and miraculous healing of God throughout his life and found that Christ enables his followers to share that presence and healing with others. Nathan graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a BS in Psychology. Desiring to continue being sharpened to bring healing related to spirituality and health, Nathan obtained his MA in Psychology and MAT from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is currently a 6th year graduate student at Fuller and hopes to serve geriatric populations and people with terminal diagnoses. He has served Tapestry over the last year, with the support of his wife, Young Flores. Nathan is passionate about helping to bolster the spiritual and mental health of men in Gospel Care.

Sung Park
Operations Director
Sung is the Operations Director at Tapestry LA. As a husband and father, an entrepreneur and a cancer survivor, Sung has witnessed firsthand the power of God through the community of Christ's church. He has been given the opportunity to dream again and to reroute the course of his life for His purpose. He is married to Sharon and together, they have 3 children: Joshua, Caleb, and Aerin.
Peter Bae
Treasurer
Peter is the Treasurer for Tapestry and is a father of 2 (Aliyah and Malakai). He works in commercial lending and has been in the banking industry for over 18 years. He finds joy in serving the church along with his wife Tina. He believes in the importance of building a gospel centered community through friendship. He loves various sports but baseball is his favorite. He is a diehard Yankee fan.
Christine Park
Administrator
Christine is the Administrator at Tapestry LA Church. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and moved to Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan where she graduated with a BA in Psychology. After working in non-profit, IT consulting, media advertising and living abroad teaching English, she felt led to use her assorted professional skills directly in church ministry. Christine loves playing boardgames, watching movies, deejaying weddings, planning group hangouts, eating BBQ with her husband and rooting for the Royals, Chiefs, and Wolverines. While she’s a woman of many passions, her biggest one is loving God through building the Body of Christ.
Jin Bae
Facilities Coordinator / Finance Administrator
Jin is our Facilities Coordinator and Finance Administrator at Tapestry LA Church. Having worked in the fashion industry for the past 8 years, he is changing directions and exploring a calling into administrative work, specifically in church ministry. He has been in Los Angeles his whole life and his heart is to serve the people of LA and to foster and nurture the community to know and live out the Gospel. Jin is a die hard Laker & Dodger fan and loves to play sports, specifically basketball. Jin’s heart is to help others experience the forgiveness and grace that He’s experienced in His life and to encourage others that God is so good and faithful.

Alex Oh
Tapestry Music Director
Alex is the Tapestry Music Director at Tapestry LA Church. Alex graduated from UCSD with a BS in Management Science, looking to pursue a career in business but God had something else for him. His active involvement in student leadership roles at UCSD led him to pursue his Masters in College Counseling in Student Development at Azusa Pacific University upon graduation, and now has been in the Higher Education field for 10 years. Alex began his worship journey in youth group as a vocalist, picked up the acoustic guitar in high school and has been leading worship since. He has had the privilege of leading worship at various AMI churches – Kairos Christian Church, Church of Southland, and now Tapestry LA Church. Alex is married to his wife Hanna, and has two kids, Lucy and Luke. Alex enjoys good conversations over coffee, listening to music, and a good game of Settlers of Catan with friends.
Queena Kim
Tapestry Music Coordinator
Queena is the Tapestry Music Coordinator and one of the worship leaders at Tapestry LA Church. She has been a public school educator since 2003 and currently is an Assistant Principal of a span school in Koreatown. She loves to travel and learn about different cultures and languages. She is always carrying snacks with her everywhere she goes.
Jake Fowler
Front of House Audio Coordinator
Jake is the Front of House Audio Coordinator at Tapestry LA Church. Jake has always felt God’s presence, healing, and restoration the most while worshipping, so joining the praise team at Tapestry was a natural fit and continues to be a blessing to him. Jake is an entrepreneur and founder of a tech startup based in Los Angeles, where he also lives with his wife Margaret. Together they are passionate about short term missions, serving on the praise team, and leading a weekly cell group.
Austin Bahng
Broadcast Audio Coordinator
Austin is the Broadcast Audio Coordinator at Tapestry LA church. Born in the Pacific Northwest near Seattle, Austin attended USC studying Computer Science and currently works as a software engineer. Being a part of Tapestry Family and supporting Tapestry Music, Austin is excited to see God working in the church and the city of Los Angeles. In his freetime, Austin enjoys cooking, music, and watching the Seahawks.

Felipe Yang
Media & Production Director
Felipe is the Media & Production Director at Tapestry LA Church. He was born in Brazil before moving to Southern California and eventually graduating with a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine. After many years working as an entrepreneur, photographer, and filmmaker, he felt led to use his creative and technical abilities to glorify God, bless the local community and grow his Kingdom by working in church ministry. Felipe, his wife Monica, and his son Liam, live in Temple City, California. During his free time, he enjoys binge watching movies and TV shows, and avidly follows his favorite sports teams: Lakers, Angels and Rams.

Jenna Cho
Media Coordinator
Born in South Korea, Jenna grew up in Kenya as a missionary kid. She graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. in Fine Arts and Business and moved to Los Angeles to work as a professional photographer. Moving to LA, she found new hope, strength, and community in God through Tapestry and recommitted to deepen her love relationship with the Lord. She was called to contribute to His Kingdom through church ministry, where she can exercise her God-given gifts in His service, and Fuller Theological Seminary, where she continues to seek God’s truth and her identity as an artist in Christ.
Sarah Kim
Media Coordinator
Sarah was born in Korea and raised across the United States, Korea, and Shanghai China. She recently graduated from USC (#FightOn!) with a degree in Business Administration and studies in UX design and web development. Upon searching for opportunities where she could use her different skills, she was invited to help Tapestry grow their media presence and digital accessibility. Having always wanted to work at a place she truly believes in the mission and culture, Sarah has been using her experience to build up Tapestry's mobile app and web interface. On Sundays, you can find her roaming around with a camera as she covers Tapestry's day-to-day, and in her free time, she likes exploring the outdoors with friends, discovering new music, and nerding out over movies.
Stephanie Xu
Media Coordinator
Stephanie was born in Canada, but mostly raised in the South Bay of NorCal. She is a recent graduate of UCLA with a degree in Design Media Arts, and an unofficial degree in sleep deprivation. Having long prayed about how to use her skills to support God’s Kingdom, she was excited join Tapestry’s team as a media intern. She hopes that in all aspects of her life, and especially during her time at Tapestry, that she would love God and people well. In her free time, you can catch her making dimsum (post covid party, anyone?), binging youtube, and playing/making music!
